Steve Lopez's column in yesterday's Los Angeles Times highlighted the strange goings on in Sierra Madre over that community's Measure V, a municipal referendum on a commercial-residential development there. The blogging in Sierra Madre is hot and heavy, and both the Downtown Dirt and the Sierra Madre Cumquat got a mention. A word of caution--free speech ain't always pretty folks.

The LA Times features a number of blogs, from the Lakers and Dodgers to one about traffic issues called the Bottleneck Blog. We came across another of these, Daily Deal Blog, by travel writer Jen Leo. Those interested in Europe might like the $500 discount on an 11-day Dalmatian coast tour that includes seven days on a 100' wooden yacht. Even with the discount, it's still $3,590 to $4,190 per person, not including airfare.
Or for those needing a break from work week stress, there's the "Done Deal" at the Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa.
