VILLAGE EXPANSION

Two new food establishments opened in the Claremont Village Expansion last week, according to City Manager Jeff Parker's weekly update.

Le Pain Quotidien, a Belgian-based bakery chain, was up and running last week. Le Pain is located across from the Claremont Laemmle 5 Theatre in the square behind the Casa 425 Hotel.

The Cold Stone Creamery also opened last week and is on Indian Hill Blvd. between 1st and 2nd Streets.

SUSTAINABLE CITY TASK FORCE

Today is the last day to apply for a seat on Claremont's Sustaintable City Task Force. The Task Force will have 20-25 members. You can download an application here or call the City Clerk at (909) 399-5460. The application needs to be returned to City Clerk Lynne Pahner at City Hall, 207 Harvard Ave., Claremont.

BONO AT CMC

Will Bigham had an article in yesterday's Daily Bulletin about U2 singer Bono speaking at Claremont McKenna College on Tuesday night. Bono talked about the twin impacts of disease and poverty in Africa, and his efforts at raising awareness and aid for those problems.

The Bulletin, by the way, is sporting a new look on its website. The makeover has led to a much more user-friendly, easier to read experience.
