October usually means high fire season in our foothills, and on Saturday, October 25th, five years to the day after the Padua Fire burned through Palmer Canyon and the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park, the Los Angeles County Fire Department will host an expo called "Living in the Fire Zone."
The event will run from 12pm to 3pm on the 25th at the Alexander Hughes Community Center, located at 1700 N. Danbury Rd. between Towne and Mountain Aves. Residents will be able to get information from fire officials on various fire safety and fire prevention topics.
