The school year is winding down for students at the Claremont Colleges, and soon this year's seniors will shuffling off to whatever futures await them.

    Alex Gibney, writer, director and producer of the 2008 Oscar-winning "Best Documentary Feature" film "Taxi to the Dark Side" (ThinkFilm) about the current U.S. policy on detention and interrogation, is the featured speaker.

    Kirsten Smith, an acclaimed screenwriter whose films focus on themes of female empowerment; her credits include "Legally Blonde," "Ella Enchanted," "10 Things I Hate About You," and "She's the Man." A much-published poet, she also has written a book about girl power and women's rights, titled Geography of Girlhood. Smith is a graduate of Occidental College.
