Yao Turned Down for AQMD Seat

As we predicted would happen, Claremont Mayor Peter Yao's bid for the South Coast Air Quality Management District's Eastern Region seat was unsuccessful.

Yao, whose support of Claremont's Base Line Rd. affordable housing project has caused him to ignore the AQMD's recommendation that the project not be built on the Base Line site, really had no business throwing his hat into the ring.

Just another case of stupid, non-rational Claremont-centricity dooming a local politician's wider ambitions. Or you can just file it under the heading "Karma."
