Lots happening in town today:


The Claremont Art Museum is having another Family Art Day today from 1pm to 3pm. Painter Janna Geary will be leading the event, which involves kids and their families painting a large mural for an installation one of the Packing House courtyards. The event is free, and you should dress to paint.

Also, from 3pm to 4pm, artists and Claremont residents Marguerite and Harrison MacIntosh will be giving a talk about local artists Jean and Arthur Ames.

And, the First Generation exhibit continues with admission free all day today.

The department of theatre and dance at Pomona College is putting on a production of the Luis Valdez play "Zoot Suit" at the college's Seaver Theatre. The show opened a week ago and is directed by Alma Martinez. It will be closing this weekend.

There are two shows today, at 2pm and 8pm, and one show tomorrow at 2pm. Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for faculty, staff, students, and seniors. The box office opens one hour prior to the show. For information, call (909) 621-8525 or 607-4375.

The Hip Kitty Jazz Club in the Claremont Packing House plays host to a contemporary jazz band called The Catz In The Hatz tonight from 8pm to midnight. The cover charge is $10.
