A reminder for interested parties -
An organization called Join the Impact is holding a "Shame on 8" rally in Memorial Park from 2pm to 5:30pm today, followed by a march at 6pm down Indian Hill Blvd. from the park to the Claremont 5 Laemmle Theatres in the Claremont Village Expansion.
The event is supposed to coincide with the opening of the film "Milk" at the Laemmle.
There will be a potluck at the park as well as a number of speakers. Blankets to sit on are suggested if you're planning on attending.
Memorial Park is located at 840 N. Indian Hill Blvd.

Prop. 8 Protest Today
* * * * * *
By the way, former Claremont Police Commissioner Gary D. Soto should perhaps be at the head of today's march, in a sedan chair, carried by six...well, let's not go to far with the imagery. This is by virtue of his generous personal contributions to the "No on 8" effort. His listed contributions, totaling $36,000, are captured below and exceed any other contributions from Claremont by perhaps a factor of ten. See the San Francisco Chronicle database for a full exposition. Thanks to a reader for the tip. (Update: yeah, that looks to us, too, like a blue velvet dinner jacket over a t-shirt. There's no accounting for taste.)click on image to enlarge
