It's finals week in Claremont, and not just at the Claremont Colleges.
The Claremont City Council has a special closed session meeting scheduled for 6:30pm tonight in Citrus Room at City Hall to conduct the Council's annual performance review for City Manager Jeff Parker. The public is allowed to speak prior to the meeting, and the Council will report on any actions at the conclusion.
No cramming allowed here. It all comes down to how the Council feels about the job Parker did this past year on the various projects the Council has pushed.
Generally, the Council and Parker have been simpatico, so Mayor Taylor, et. al., may just opt to fill in the bubble for Parker that says "six-percent merit pay increase" or something to that effect. Of course, with the economy and the state's finances being what they are, we may see some adjustment on the size of the raise.
In August, the Claremont Courier reported Parker's salary as $203,318 (excluding benefits - $75,513 as of 12/22/06), so any increase will be based on that.
We'll know more on this in a day or two.
